This is my first photoshoot, what should I know?
No worries, I've got you covered! My goal is to make your experience as comfortable, effortless, and enjoyable as possible.
Here’s what to expect:
- Before the Session: Once you book, I’ll send you a guide with tips on outfits, locations, and how to prepare. If you have questions, I’m happy to help!
- During the Shoot: Don’t stress about posing—I’ll guide you every step of the way with natural direction to capture authentic moments. Just relax and have fun!
- After the Shoot: Your images will be hand-edited and delivered via an online gallery within the promised timeframe. From there, you can download, share, and order prints if you’d like!
Do you take a non-refundable retainer for my session date?
Yes. I take a 25% percent non-refundable date retainer fee based on the collection chosen to reserve the date we have agreed upon. The remaining session balance will be due on the date specified in the contract.
What is your turn around time for a collection delivery?
Lifestyle photography galleries are typically delivered within 2-4 weeks, while wedding galleries take approximately 3-9 weeks.
During peak season (June–October), delivery times may extend slightly, with lifestyle sessions averaging 3 weeks and weddings closer to 9 weeks. If your gallery requires additional time, you will be notified before the end of your session.
Do you send sneak peaks?
Yes, I do. Sneak peaks are expected to be delivered within 72 hours of the session.
Do you deliver every image you shoot?
Unfortunately, no. As much as I would love to say that every single image I collect with my camera is perfect, blurriness happens, shadows happen, and human error happens. Therefore, I thoughtfully select enough images to cover your collection's promise keeping in mind what is important to you as the client.
Do you give RAWs?
No, I do not. Raw files are a form of negative that holds information pertaining to my personal ownership of the image. As a client you are purchasing the final product that will be delivered in a readable format for you and your loved ones to share across social platforms & hold in your hands.
Raw files require special software to be purchased in order for them to be readable to the average individual.
What are the best colors & patterns to wear for a session? What should I avoid?
Colors:
White
Black
Red (darker, nothing too vibrant)
Orange (honey)
Yellow (nothing too vibrant)
Green (olive & jade)
Blue (any shade)
Purple (any shade)
Patterns:
Please refrain from incredibly small pinstripes & checkered patterns. Please limit patters to one article and one individual in the image, unless the pattern is very small. Too many patterns can cause distractions, but textures are wonderful.
Who picks the location?
Typically, the location is picked by me . However, this is after you are consulted and we have discussed interests like city versus woodsy.
Locations with personal significance or locations that have been discussed with me are absolutely acceptable, but a small travel fee will be placed on any outside of
Metro Detroit.
Do you charge an additional travel fee?
Yes. For lifestyle sessions located more than 60 minutes from Metro Detroit, a travel fee will apply. For weddings beyond 150 miles from Metro Detroit, additional travel costs will be required. If your session or wedding falls outside these areas, feel free to reach out for a custom travel quote!
